Marion Commissioners asked to 'man up'
and take action on animal control

As the chief volunteer for Claws & Paws Animal Rescue, local resident Peggy Woolam has been a longtime advocate for the humane treatment of animals and has urged local leaders to improve animal control for many years. Last Tuesday she told the Marion County Commission that if they do not do something soon, they might be left without much of the help Claws & Paws currently provides.
“I am not picking up any more dogs in Marion County as of the end of the first quarter of 2014 if y’all have not taken some action,” she said. “It is time for y’all to man up and take a stand. Either you are going to do it or you are going to hire somebody to do it.”
