Chattahoochee Co. makes big road improvements

Like all rural counties, Chattahoochee County struggles at times with the ongoing maintenance of dirt roads. A lot of planning, hard work, and a grant have recently helped them make major improvements.
Gordy Mill Pond Road and Manta Roads provided the usual challenges of keeping dirt roads in good shape, plus more. Due to erosion and scrapping, the roads were extremely close to the natural water line – only four inches above it in some places.
The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County received a $46,000 grant from Two Rivers Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D). Some local sales tax revenue was also used, but the grant, along with having the ... Online subscribers click here for the rest of the story.
