Later this week families across the country will come together to give thanks as part of a unique American holiday – Thanksgiving. One local family will also be celebrating a milestone in their uniquely American story.
Zellobee Farm in Marion County – owned by Tommy and Sherry McAllister – was recently recognized as a “Centennial Farm” in an official ceremony in Perry as part of this year’s Georgia

National Fair festivities.
The 100-year history of the farm is very interesting – from its rich beginnings as a 2,000-acre cotton plantation to how the family responded to the devastation of the boll weevil infestation, diversified, and came back strong instead of giving up.
