One of two people accused of a heinous local murder was convicted and sentenced to life plus 25 years last week in Marion County Superior Court. The other suspect – who is also accused of an additional murder in another state – is expected to stand trial here in May.
The Marion County jury

found Donna Marie Slaughter, 30, guilty of the murder of a young man, Michael Haegele, 21, who lived with she and her husband, Jason Slaughter, 23, for around a year in their home at 23 Palm Drive, Mauk.
