Tazewell Baptist Church was destroyed by fire last Sunday, March 15. Actually, the historic church building where the church members meet was destroyed. The church, however, is alive and well.
“The church is the people,” said Deacon Chairman Vance Streeter. “The building is material. It’s sad, but it’s just a building. If we stay together, it’s going to work out.”
It appears that they are not only doing a good job of “staying together,” but they’re getting a lot of help from the community – especially other local church congregations.
