Marion Commission passes roadwork, etc.

The Marion County Commission dealt with a number of transportation issues, including improvements to roads and the airport, and also discussed the Recreation Department during its recent monthly meeting.
Commissioners revamped the priority list for state roadwork funding. Power Station Road is getting a lot more traffic due to the location of the new Marion County Middle/High School, so they voted to make resurfacing the road a priority. The county has received $238,156 from the state Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant. Commissioners voted to spend this money and use some revenue from local sales taxes to resurface the road.
