The Lumpkin City Council has been featured on area television news programs recently and not in a good way, as charges of a racial slur have led to calls for the resignation of a council member.
Council member Deborah Stone was accused of using the "n-word" in reference to Mayor Charles Gibson. It is a charge that she, through a friend, has denied.
