A Cry for Justice wins award

A movie based on the books of Ellaville resident Jackie Carpenter has won first place in an international film festival. The movie is also being requested by law professors as a teaching tool.
The movie, A Cry for Justice, tells the powerful story of how Jackie Carpenters idyllic life turned into a living nightmare when her son went on trial for felony murder after he accidentally shot a man stealing from his worksite. At that time, Jackie had no way of knowing her sons trial would become a textbook case that would make law history, or that the screenplay for the movie (from her two books) would win First Place in the Alaska International Film Festival.
