The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County met Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a busy first meeting of 2014. The commissioners elected officers, voted to call a referendum to continue the local sales tax, set the qualifying fee for local candidates, discussed the status of the courthouse renovation project, and continued to consider privatization of garbage collection.
Officers: Commissioner Ronnie Burgamy was elected as the chairman of the commission for 2014, while Commissioner Donald Moore was elected as the vice chairman.
