The Hubbard Family of Michigan includes three generations of beekeepers. They’ve learned a lot through the years, but this year they decided to sweeten their business by hauling honeybees south for the winter. So, last month they stacked boxes containing 386 hives and approximately 13.5 million bees on a truck and drove approximately 1,000 miles south to Buena Vista.
“We found a nice home for the bees and we found some really kind people, too,” said Richard Hubbard, 73, the most experienced of the beekeepers.
