The Dime Store in Buena Vista opened in 1976 and it has remained a mainstay of the local business landscape over the last 36 years. It has only grown in popularity and was recently named Business of the Year by the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Dawn Welch said being recognized as Business of the Year was a nice surprise.
It has given me a boost, lifted my spirits, and the award makes me want to be the best that we can be, she said. After having been in business as long as we have been, sometimes you need a little pick me up. A little enthusiasm goes a long way, and the award was a definite boost for that.
