Janie Downer has seen a lot in her long career in public education, from the joy of inspiring students in the classroom, to the challenges of leading a school system in a period of financial difficulty, and many things in between. However, half way through her 34th year in education she reluctantly decided she had seen enough.
Downer resigned her position as Webster County Superintendent/Principal in a special called meeting of the Webster County Board of Education last Thursday, February 14.
