A small group of volunteers gathered Monday morning to begin filling bags for Share the Season’s special delivery of food to needy Marion County families. While the December project is a little more special due to Christmas, the volunteers actually “Share the Season” all year long.
“We fill bags and distribute 3,400 cans of food every month (for 500+ families),” said David Ellis, who along with wife Betty founded the volunteer organization 24 years ago. “The bags are extra special at Christmas, with fruits and toys for some of the most

needy families with children, but this is a year-round ministry.”
