Cusseta wins big
Recreation Award

Director Craig Potter thinks Cusseta-Chattahoochee County has one of the best overall Recreation Departments around. He’s not alone. The Chattahoochee Recreation Department recently received the Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s 2012 Agency of the Year Award for District 3, which basically includes the entire southwest quarter of the state. They were deemed to have the best department for all communities in the district with a population of 20,000 or less.
“I think we stack up very well with other communities, especially ones that are of similar size,” said Potter. “Our facilities and programs are as good as anybody’s.”
Potter has supervised a growing department since becoming the director in 2006 and he’s very pleased with how far they’ve come in such a short amount of time. He said it is testimony to how much the community and its leaders value recreation.
