Marion County is the home of Georgia's newest Wildlife Management Area (WMA). A special announcement was made on Tuesday about the formation of the Chattahoochee Fall Line WMA, which includes 2,500 acres in north/central Marion County and another 8,300 acres in southern Talbot County.
The establishment of the WMA is described as a public/private collaboration between The Nature Conservancy, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Army.
