Georgia Governor Nathan Deal was welcomed as a guest member of "Eagle Nation" on Tuesday afternoon, speaking to students, teachers, officials, and touring the campus.
Marion County Middle-High School was selected as one of only six schools in a special tour the governor embarked on as a way to see a variety of types of schools that stand out for one reason or another. He began the day at Henry County, which has drawn attention for its use of technology. Marion County was the next stop as an example of a small, rural school system that is doing well.
"We look at those statistics and I think y'all are doing very well," said Gov. Deal.
