The Marion County Board of Elections & Registration voted last Thursday to allow candidate Jason Keyt to remain on the ballot for the upcoming election in Marion County. The board had heard testimony in a hearing held a week earlier after fellow candidate Lawrence (Larry) Ogan questioned whether or not Keyt met the one-year residency requirement to seek a seat on the Marion County Commission.
Ogan (incumbent) and Keyt are both seeking the Republican nomination for the District III seat on the Commission. The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 20. The winner of the Ogan/Keyt race will face Philip L. Moore, who is the only Democratic candidate, in the Nov. 4 election.
