With the US Internal Revenue Service's annual income tax filing deadline taking place last week, everyone is probably aware of federal taxes (at least as much as possible with the US Tax Code being an incredible 73,954 pages long). However, do area residents know how their local taxes compare with the rest of this part of Georgia?
This week The Journal begins its annual Area Property Tax Comparison by looking at the millage rates of 13 counties in our part of Southwest Georgia.
