hires new administrator

The Schley County Commission has hired Bill Sawyer to serve as an interim administrator for county affairs. Sawyer was asked to serve in this position by the commissioners and was hired following a phone call vote. At the April 9 meeting a formal vote approved the decision.
We realized that we did not have the expertise to address the problems that the county is facing with past accounting issues, recent changes in governmental affairs, and county matters in general, said Commission Chairman Greg Barineau.
