Home from his second deployment to Iraq, Corporal Dillon Ball of Ellaville is now stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.
Cpl. Ball joined the Marines when in the 12th grade at Schley County High School through the Delayed Entry Program. His enrollment is for four years of active duty and two years of inactive duty. He would be available while on inactive status. After one year of service at Pendleton, he will decide on his future plans. He is with the 1st LAR BN H&S Company, assigned to Motor Transportation.
While in Iraq on his second deployment, he served on the Quick Reaction Force. This team escorts the Marines that disarm roadside bombs.
Greg and Pam Ball of Ellaville are proud of their son. He received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for being the NCO in charge of a voting poll. His poll had a very large percentage of Iraqi women voting.
"Dillon feels that much has been accomplished in Iraq and that our forces continue to do good things to help the Iraqi people," Mrs. Ball said. "I am so |

proud of all of them. My son being a Marine has really opened my eyes about so many things. I am truly proud to be an American and I am so thankful to all of the men and women all throughout history who have given their lives and service for our freedom." |
