The crowd grows each year and this year was no exception. Springtime Ellaville was a huge success with people staying on and on into the afternoon. The weather was just as great, with a nice breeze and a sunny sky.
The parade turned out to be a big one with the grand marshal, Schley County Schools Superintendent William Johnson, leading it in a red corvette driven by Johnny Wall. Senator George Hooks, Gerald Smith, and Representative Mike Cheokas and his family all entered the line-up.
Winning the first place prize for best entry in the parade was the Staff of Schley County DFCS.  Schley County Adult Literacy came in second, and the Schley County High School Cheerleaders won third.
A “Yahoo Group” called Ellaville Memories gathered in the Schley County Public Library Meeting Room to share their photographs and recollections of the history of Ellaville and the County. They plan to meet again at the Sesquicentennial on

October 13, 2007, and at subsequent festivals.
Entertainment was excellent again, and everyone enjoyed watching Amy's Dancers, the majorettes, and all of the bands and singers.
The Fun Run got things off to a good start early in the day. Damien Lundy won overall in the boys’ category and Gabby Pina won the girls’ race.  It was a very close and exciting finish for Lundy.
Southern Paint & Body also hosted a “The Car Show” in conjunction with this year’s festival. It was also a big hit (see separate article).
In 2007 there will not be a Springtime Ellaville festival since the Sesquicentennial is being held in October.
