| * 1 p.m. - Patrick Cobb and Mike Goare * 1:30 p.m. - Stephanie Cobb * 2 p.m. - Ebenezer Praise Group The Fun Run will be held at 8 a.m. sharp. This run is a Springtime tradition and always starts the event off with a bang. There will be an award for the first boy and the first girl over the finish line. The award presentations will be made at 9 a.m. on the entertainment stage. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Superintendent William Johnson will be the grand marshal. State Senator George Hooks will ride in the parade also. The Schley County High School Band will march, and many other entries will make up another great festival parade. Joining the parade for the first time this year is the Sowega Big Wheelers. Their entries will be antique tractors and farm equipment. There will also be motorcycles riding in the parade as part of the Christian Motorcycle Association group. The big news on the parade is that there will be monetary prizes for the top three entries. A first place prize of $100, a second of $75 and a third of $50 will be given out for the winners. Southern Paint & Body will sponsor a Car Show on Wilson Street. Registration is from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m. A drawing for $100 can be entered for a raffle ticket of only $1. Ellaville-Schley Senior Citizens will hold a White Elephant Sale, Craft and Bake Sale at Ellaville City Center. A sidewalk art contest will be held in front of City Hall on Wilson Street at 8:30 a.m. Called "Chalk-it-Up," the contest invites kids to try out their artistic talents. For those interested in Schley County history, the Ellaville Memories Internet Yahoo Group is meeting in the Schley County Public Library Meeting Room. There won't be a Springtime Ellaville in 2007 since the Sesquicentennial Celebration will be held in October of next year. So come out and join in on the fun, eat some great food, see people you haven't seen in a while, buy a few trinkets and have a great time. |
