Theiss elected new Ellaville Mayor

Ellaville residents elected a new mayor, while voters countywide approved an extension of the one percent sales tax in a special election held Tuesday, March 20.
In the mayor’s race, David Theiss, republican, received 73 votes (60%) to win over fellow candidate Mike Sellars, democrat, who received 48 votes (40%).
Voters passed the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum by a margin of 142 to 42 (77% to
