Theiss elected new Ellaville Mayor

Sales Tax Renewed

   Ellaville residents elected a new mayor, while voters countywide approved an extension of the one percent sales tax in a special election held Tuesday, March 20.
   In the mayor’s race, David Theiss, republican, received 73 votes (60%) to win over fellow candidate Mike Sellars, democrat, who received 48 votes (40%).

23%). The one percent sales tax will be split by the local city and county governments for future projects that fall under the limits that were spelled out in the referendum.
