administrator for first the City of Ellaville and then the Schley County Commission. Now, while it is not a foregone conclusion, it is possible that he may be leaving the area.
Redmond, the current Schley County Administrator, has applied for the same position in Meriwether County. He has been interviewed by the county commissioners of Meriwether and they have named him as the sole finalist for the position. However, the commissioners have not yet formally voted on whether or not to hire him. Redmond will know sometime this week if he has the job.
Redmond is originally from Columbus and is a graduate of Hardaway High School and Columbus State University. He began his professional career in government administration with Grantville in Coweta County, where he served as the city administrator for two years. He then came to Ellaville and served as the city administrator for three years. In May of 2003 he left the City of Ellaville, but not the area, as he became the administrator for the Schley County Board of Commissioners.
