relayed at the recent “History Night” by the moderator, Nancy Young. Young is also chairman of the Sesquicentennial Committee.
“There will be a parade at eleven and vendor booths in downtown Ellaville,” Young said. “Jukebox Saturday Night will be the entertainment in the evening.  Tickets are $20 a person.”
Many in attendance were “old timers” of the county and told about what they remembered from earlier years.  Interesting items were on display.
Jerry Battle told about his website: www.ellavillega.com. He has links on the site to all kinds of information, both current and historical.  There is also a link to the Ellaville Memories Yahoo Group.  This group discusses history and memories on a daily basis and joining the group, even if you are just going to read what is submitted, is free.  Battle had put the scrapbook of the 1957 Centennial Celebration on digital record and set up a computer for those attending to view.
Refreshments were served and the group enjoyed socializing after the history session.
