SCHS heads to 'State'

The Schley County High School softball team is one of only eight teams still alive in the hunt for the Class A State Championship.
The Lady Wildcats breezed through the Southern Sectional last week at North Glenn Park in Brunswick, winning all three of their games. They outscored their opponents by a total of 23 to 5.
Schley County’s first game was against Baconton on Friday, Oct. 20. They won that game by a score of 12-0.
The Lady Cats’ second victim was Irwin County later the same day. This time Schley won by a score of 6-1.

State Finals:
The Lady Cats will now compete with the other remaining teams (Georgia Military, Gordon Lee, Savannah Country Day, ELCA, Pacelli, Brookstone, and Jefferson) in the State Finals, Thursday, Oct. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 28 at South Commons in Columbus.
Schley County will open with a game against Georgia Military on Thursday at 2 p.m. If they win, they will play again at 6 p.m. If they lose the first game, they will drop to the loser’s bracket and play the next game on Friday at 9 a.m., but still be alive in the hunt for the title.
