The City of Ellaville has scheduled a special election for March 20 to fill the unexpired term of former Mayor Hugh Turner.
Qualifying will be held January 29-31 for those interested in seeking the position. The qualifying fee is $105.
Turner announced last August that he would be resigning at the end of
Mayor Protem Nathaniel Thornton is currently serving as the acting mayor until a new mayor is sworn in after the March 20 election.
