We will have our wrap up meeting May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Entertainment Galore This year’s relay featured a bevy of fun activities and entertainment, lined up by volunteer Allison Rost, as can be seen by the list below. * The Messengers, the Tri County High School Band, and Southern Glory all performed. * Brianna's Band (Tazewell Methodist), The Foxy Baptist Girls (First Baptist), New Providence and Cake Mix (FBLA) competed in a Lip Sync contest. * Jerry Horne won the quilt from Tazewell Methodist. * Mt. Carmel had a bunch of winners from their silent auction (too many to list). * FBLA had a wonderful time. They had the Jail and Bail. * Those who participated in the Bear Time Story had a great time and wanted to do it again and again and again. * Jeanette Icard (Tazewell Baptist) furnished a cake for the Relay participants. Rost said she wanted to thank everyone who helped out, including: Seleta Rogers for being the Mistress of Ceremonies, Jack Graham for being the DJ, the ladies at the Dime Store for all of their help in getting some last minute items that were needed for the Relay, the Marion County Cancer Board for allowing her to do the entertainment again this year, Heather Andrews and Tanisha Smith (who we lost this year due to her husband's transfer) for providing give-aways for participants, all of the team captains who took the time to do their “magic,” and everyone who participated one way or the other. “As a cancer survivor, I know the importance of this Relay,” added Rost. “I encourage everyone to participate in every Relay they can. In your county, join a team and have fun. For a fun Friday night out for the family, go to a Relay in another county and enjoy.” |
