According to a report obtained from Southern Interceptors, a dealer in Cedar Point, North Carolina that provides used police vehicles to law enforcement agencies, the five vehicles ordered by the Municipal Police Department of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County were vandalized the night before they were due to be shipped to Cusseta.
According to sources at Southern Interceptors, the vehicles were so badly damaged they were not salvageable. Also according to sources at Southern Interceptors, only the vehicles slated for delivery to the Municipal Police Department were damaged.
The Municipal Police Department has located other vehicles, and plans to have them in service by the end of next week. In a called meeting held on October 23, 2006, the Board of Commissioners directed the county manager to have the matter of the vandalized cars investigated.
